Snowed in

My girls and I had a snow day today. If you don't live in any of the Mountain states you probably got lucky and missed out on the blizzard we just went through. I live out in the eastern plains area of Colorado. We got areas that were buried under inches and some under a foot or so of the pretty white stuff. If you look around my house you'll see huge snowdrifts in some areas and almost nothing in others. You'll also see areas where icicles are forming thanks in part to the rain that preceeded the snow and the sun that came out late this afternoon.

So what does one do on a Snow Day in Colorado, you ask?  For myself and my stamp sisters,  we stamped.

Below you'll see some pictures of the snow last night and this morning.

Here's a photo of a card that I made today that uses Sparkly Seasons (139825) and Seasonal Frame framelits  (139658) I also used some of my favorite embellishments including silver cording trim (139620) and Metallics Sequin Assortment (138390).

This card is perfect for a snow day like today. If you're in my neck of the woods I hope you are keeping warm. If you're fortunate enough to live in a warmer area,  enjoy that warmth for me.

Thanks for stopping by and have a warm and safe rest of your day.
Until next time,  Happy stamping and creating!

I love Wonderland

My absolute favorite stamp set in this years Holiday Catalog has got to be the Wonderland stamp set found on page 23.

Don't you just love those trees? Here's a couple of cards that I've made using those trees.

I love nature and trees, they are so majestic. When we go camping and we sit beneath a canopy of trees it's so serene and calming. This first car reminds me of looking up at the moon at night through the trees. I know, I know, the sky is never green, but I love green and this just seemed right to me.

I did this one to show the versatility of the orientation of the stamp. What a difference from this one and the previous card. I went with a slightly more realistic color blend when I did this one. It looks a lot more like the moonlight sky when we're enjoying nature. The only thing I wish I had done on this card was add a bit of color under the moon and then sponge over it whisper white. The moon looks extremely bright and I'm sure for those of you who have gone camping or live out of the city you can see more of the features and details of the moon.

Products used in these cards include: Cording Gold (139618) Silver (139620), Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack (139594), Winter Wonderland Embellishments  (139621), Wonderland stamp set (140365), Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (139672). These can all be found in the Holiday Catalog. From our Annual Idea Book and Catalog (IB&C) you can find these products: Basic Metal Buttons Gold (133763), Metallics Sequins Assortment (138390), Ovals Collection Framelits (129381)

I'm trying out a new graphic collage app to make it a bit easier to show images of products used. I think next time I will try to screen shot just the pictures instead of all product details. Hope you like it.

Some other items used include Stampin' Dimensionals (104430), Stamping Sponges (*These have been updated so if you choose to order them do not use the code found in the IB&C. Do a search for sponges and you should be able to find the new ones to add to your shopping cart.) Mossy Meadow ink (133645) card stock (CS) (133676) Very Vanilla CS (101650), Sponge Daubers (133773), Craft Ink in Whisper White (101731) and our NEW* Basic Black Archival Ink (140931) I also used a bunch of other colors to create the sponged backgrounds on both colors. I just sponged color into the blank areas until I was happy with the way it looked.

I hope you enjoy this set as much as I do, and if you don't already own it, I hope you'll consider investing in a set before the catalog sales period ends on January 4, 2016. As with all of our stamp sets there is no guarantee that this set will carry over into next years catalog so I recommend if you like it,  don't wait.

*As a reminder I always post the product codes for our clear mount stamp sets in red. If you prefer the wood mount versions you'll want to look up that code before you add to your cart.

Thank you for stopping by and if you haven't followed me yet please don't forget to do so, so you won't miss out on any future updates.

Until next time. Happy Stamping and Crafting.

It's been a crazy year

After convention last year I came home to get my three girls ready to head back to school. We were busy with our Taekwondo classes and trying to establish a schedule, around here, that fit for everyone. Shortly after school began our 17 year old found out she was pregnant. Poor thing was scared, very ill and unsure what to do. We supported her throughout the entire process and now have a beautiful grandbaby to show for it.

She's almost 8 months old now and this photo was taken a few months ago but it's one of my favorite of her because of her big beautiful smile. She had a rough first 8 days but you wouldn't know by looking at her now.

When she was about 4 months old I finally had the time to do some of the things I missed doing. I've been working on stamping again and getting my stamp room organized and preparing for classes that I'd like to put up on my calendar. Keep an eye out for those to be posted soon.

The past couple of weeks my upline has set out daily challenges for us to complete. For me the creative part of making cards has never been an issue, the real issue has been the "TIME." Who wouldn't want extra time in the day to do the things they love the most? I know I'm in that group of people.

I have quite a few samples to share with you, over the next few weeks, already lined up to share so keep an eye out for them. I'm hoping to get back to doing this at least a few times a week because I really miss it. Thank you to those of you who have sent me messages on Facebook or who have texted and emailed me to check up on me over the past year. It's meant a lot.

Here's one of my recent card samples. Since the month of November is the month where most take the time to be Thankful for the years worth of blessings I think a "Thank You" card is befitting, don't you?

I recently took a look through this years Idea Book and Catalog and came across this background stamp. Why didn't I see it before? I think it's partly because in this catalog not all of our background stamps are located in one place. You'll find this beauty on page 15. A World of Thanks (139315) goes with the F block (118483) If you prefer you can purchase this on a woodblock but I prefer most of my stamps in clear mount form for storage purposes. I know some of you know that I was born in Hawaii and the biggest reason why I got this stamp was because of the "Mahalo"on the stamp. I couldn't resist it.

Yesterday I was challenged to create a card using Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party and Whisper White.

I used Whisper White card stock, Pool Party (PP) ink (126982), PP card stock (CS), Watermelon Wonder (WW) ink (138323), WW CS (138334), WW dotted lace trim (138425) and of course to get those nice ovals I used our Ovals Collection Framelits (129381)

Super cute, and super easy. I hope you are enjoying your Thursday, wherever you may be.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!
